Field Testing

Each Preschool Initiative (PI) member state was asked to select and field test four high quality assessments and/or instructional materials of its choice that contained evidence based and promising practices during year two of the grant cycle (October 1, 2016-September 30, 2107). The purposes of the field test activity were to: assist states with resource selection;  provide implementation data; and, to further the PI’s goals of building state capacity and knowledge related to serving the per-kindergarten (PK) migrant student population more effectively. The following summaries were compiled for each state providing an overview of the resources used and outcomes.

Field Test Guidelines, Rubrics, and Forms

Detailed guidelines were provided to each state to support their establishment and implementation of the field tests. To enable consistent collection of feedback and facilitate analysis of the core elements/components of each resource, rubrics and forms were provided for both the Instructional Resource Review and Assessment Implementation field tests.

Educational resources

PI has created three rubrics that provide information on curricula and learning materials for year long preschool (pre-k) programs, summer pre-k and jumpstart to kindergarten programs, and parent training / home instruction.

The educational resources listed below were submitted by PI member states. The rubrics are living documents; additional resources will continue to be added.
